Kvitfjell is the ski enthusiast's first choice with excellent snow conditions and trails in the entire spectrum from children's areas to Olympic standards. Three mountain sides with numerous prepared runs and a wide selection of restaurants allow you to perfect your skiing without the queues or masses of tourists.
While winter sports are what visitors traditionally expect to find when they visit, the area offers so many more activities to get stuck into â making for a perfect winter break destination.
During the winter Hyttekos Lodge can be booked exclusively for seven night stays. The spacious kitchen/living room with fireplace and large windows, in-house ski room, outdoor jacuzzi and sauna make Hyttekos Lodge well-equipped for a perfect skiing holiday.

Winter is the favourite season of many Norwegians. It's not so strange when you think about it: outdoor enthusiasts love the many sports and activities in the snow.

With snow arriving in October and staying to late April, Kvitfjell offers 39 kilometers of snow-sure alpine slopes spread out over 854 meters in height. With pistes in the entire spectrum from nursery slopes to the challenging 3.5 kilometer downhill run of Olympic standard, there is something for all levels of winter sport fanatics.

600 km of cross-country trails lead through a diverse and breathtaking scenery, and are designed to cater for all skill levels and weather conditions. On clear, sunny days skiers can enjoy kilometers of trails above the tree-line, leading through a slightly hilly terrain. Kvitfjell has a joint trail network with Skeikampen and GÄlÄ.

Climb the Kvitfjell Ski Resort or head to north Gudbrandsdalen where experienced guides can show you the most wonderful ascents and descents. The most popular alpine touring areas can be found in Jotunheimen. Note that seasoned ski tourers should also join guided tours if they are visiting an area for the first time.
Seamless ski-in / ski-out
Hyttekos Lodge offers convenient ski-in/ski-out access for both cross-country and alpine skiing. The ski-out trail begins just behind the lodge, leading directly to a slope that descends to the base of Varden mountain. From there, you can take the gondola to connect to the west side. For a seamless ski-in experience, Track 38 from the top of Varden brings you back to the lodge with ease.

Believe it or not â not all Norwegians are 'born with skis on their feet'. Most of them still love some snowy fun, though. If skiing isnât your thing either, youâll still find endless opportunities for other snow-based activities.

Feel the rush of adrenaline in a fast-paced experience in the Olympic bobsleigh track. Bobraft is a rubber bob with a top speed of 100km/h, and will give an adrenaline rush with a pressure of up to 3G.
Kvitfjell is a regular stop on the World Cup circuit, hosting both men's wonen's speed events late in the season, since March 1993. The downhill course begins just below the summit and is slightly over 3 km in length, designed by Bernhard Russi for the 1994 Olympics. After the Olympics, World Cup races have been held in Kvitfjell every year since.
Seamless skiing experience
Hyttekos Lodge is perfectly located with very good ski in/out. The track right next to the cabin takes you straight out into both the alpine and cross-country tracks. Sports shops, ski hire and ski schools in Kvitfjell Vest are within walking distance from Hyttekos Lodge.

Lift-passes for Kvitfjell Ski Resort can easily be purchased online before you arrive, which can be picked-up at the ticket machine or ski shop at the West side. You can reach the West side by skiing down from Hyttekos Lodge and take the gondola to the West side, which doesn't require a lift pass. Or you can walk there in 20 minutes or drive there in 5 min.

The ski rental shop is located at the West side, which is a 20 minute walk from Hyttekos Lodge. They have alpine equipment suitable for all levels. Book your ski equipement ahead of the season to receive a 20% discount. Booking your equipement in advance is advised to ensure availability.

The ski school in Kvitfjell has long experience in coaching skiers and snowboarders at all levels. Book your lesson online in advance, since group classes and courses can sell out quickly.
